About this event

TVCC children with special needs/disabilities will get a feel for typical kindergarten activities and routines each day.

This program is designed for children who are entering kindergarten for the first time and who have not had experience with preschool, regular daycare or a classroom setting.

There will be opportunities for children to practice the social, communication, fine motor, and gross motor skills that are connected to kindergarten activities. Support to enhance student success will be provided by TVCC clinicians and volunteers. Space is limited.

Parents/caregivers will be in a separate room at the centre participating in group discussions about navigating the education system, transitions, supports and services at school, home/school relationships, and advocacy. This learning opportunity is lead by the TVCC Parent Mentor team and will include guest speakers from a variety of school-age programs and services at TVCC and the local school boards.

Please complete your intent to register via the eventbrite link. A TVCC staff memebr will respond to you within 2 weeks of your registration to gather more information about your child. Participants will be selected based on their needs, goals and space available.
